PG Department of Urdu
As the Mithila University was established in Darbhanga in the year 1992. Various undergraduate department of the premium college chandradhari Mithila College, Darbhanga were gradually, upgraded and adjust in the university campus
On 14th September, 1997 Post Graduate Department of Urdu was established by the Vice-Chancellor Professor H. N. Yadav to promote the learning and research in Urdu. In 1981, A cadre professor of Urdu was also recruited in the Department to strengthen it. As a result, the Department flourished in the field of Knowledge.
A large number of pass outs succeeded in getting plum post not only in Bihar but in different state and central Universities/ College of India besides competing in UGC-NET/ JFR. Seminar, symposium and extension lectures were organized in the Deptt. in addition to publication of research papers. Departmental journals and books of teachers and research scholars.
Since the department of Urdu was established, there was a seminar library cum Book Bank. At Present, about 6000 (six thousand) Books and journals on various topics are available in the library for the benefit of the research scholars, students and teachers of the Department.
