About the Department

The then Bihar University of which Mithila University was carved out in 1972 decided to start P.G. teaching in commerce in C.M.College, Darbhanga and from 1978, it was housed in a magnificent building of Maharaja of Darbhanga known as Nargauna Palace with a motto to develop the department as a centre of excellence and in research in the field of commerce and allied subjects. The department regularly organized seminars and groups discussions for all students and faculty members. The departmental library and reading room has been developed to enrich the quality of education and research work. The departments subscribes more than three dozen reputed journals and periodicals of national and international repute. In, addition to a stock of more than 10,000 valuable books, in order to encourage competitive career building of students a good number of multidimensional competitive magazines are also being regularly subscribed.
